Description
The Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) at UCSF
is a means for students who have earned a non-nursing bachelor's (B.S./B.A.)
degree to enroll in our prestigious Master of Science (MS) Program at
UCSF School of Nursing.
The regular (two-year) Masters program at UCSF is primarily for experienced
Registered Nurses (RNs) seeking advanced training in specific specialty areas.
MEPN is an opportunity for applicants to first enter the nursing profession, and
conclude their nursing studies with both an RN and an MS degree.
MEPN students begin at UCSF with an intense pre-licensure year of nursing study leading
to testing and state RN licensure.
Following this pre-licensure year, MEPN students join the regular MS program
for the remaining two years of specialty area instruction, culminating in the Master
of Science degree.
