Information for Prospective Students

Please Note:   At UCSF, our Nursing programs are designed for graduate-level (MS, PhD) students; Bachelor's/BS/BSN programs are not offered.

If you do not yet hold a bachelor's degree and are not now a registered nurse, you should either:

  1. complete bachelors work in another field and then apply to our Masters Entry Program (MEPN) for pre-licensure nursing training and graduate specialty work at the Masters level,
    - or -
  2. earn a bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) and come to UCSF for graduate specialty work at the Masters level. If you are a nurse, but do not yet have a bachelors degree, complete BSN work and then come to the UCSF School of Nursing's Masters Program.
