WebCT is the UCSF system for the development, operation, and management of online courses. UCSF instructors and students are able to access their courses through WebCT's secure online learning environment.

UCSF's Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) operates and maintains WebCT.

CIT's mission is to facilitate and promote effective use of multimedia and computer-based resources at UCSF.

Faculty development is a major component of the CIT's mission. The CIT offers courses and workshops for faculty and others in a variety of topics, including how to design courses in WebCT and how to make the most of technology in developing online courses.

A GALEN Account is required for students and faculty to access WebCT. GALEN is UCSF's digital library.
