Importance of Sharing Knowledge

The Center for Nursing Research & Innovation is committed to widely disseminating and transferring the knowledge and practice innovations gained from research in order to improve the quality of nursing care and its outcomes while containing costs. To view a presentation about a recent publication on Pain Assessment in Adults with Cognitive Limitations, click here for pain.pdf (Adobe Acrobat version).

The Center communicates new research knowledge in numerous ways:

The Online Journal of Clinical Innovations (OJCI)

Online journals are one of the tools available to nurses in providing patients with evidence-based nursing care. They expedite the dissemination and transfer of knowledge and can provide easy access to information useful to nurses.

Nancy Donaldson, the Center's Director, is a Founding Co-Editor of the Online Journal of Clinical Innovations (OJCI). OJCI combines the technology of the Cinahl Information Systems database at with the technology of the World Wide Web. It can be accessed online via the Cinahl website at http://www.cinahl.com/ (select the express link and then Journals Available Online) or by going directly to http://www.cinahl.com/cexpress/ojcionline3/index.html. Summaries of all OJCI articles are available at no charge as is the full text of selected articles. Other articles are available for purchase through CINAHL. For more information, see our Online Journal of Clinical Innovations (OJCI) page.
