	Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP)

For Undergraduate Nursing Students:
Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP)

The University of California, San Francisco School of Nursing invites you to apply for the Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP).

SAEP is designed to assist academically qualified undergraduate nursing students interested in gaining admission into competitive research training programs and universities with advanced education programs in nursing.

This year, the program convenes at our San Francisco campus from June 6 through the evening of June 9, 2011.

Applications for SAEP 2011 are due by  May 2, 2011.

Acceptance is based upon preset criteria and evaluation of each applicant by nursing faculty. UCSF School of Nursing believes advanced practice nursing should be open to all candidates who meet admission criteria. See below for applications and for housing information.

SAEP is for nurses or nursing students in the process of completing their BSN, or those persons who have recently received their BSN. SAEP requirements are as follows:

1. Be a junior or senior student in a baccalaureate (bachelor's) degree nursing program,
   - or -
   Be a graduate of not more than 2 yrs from a baccalaureate-nursing program.
2. Have a grade point average of 3.0, as shown on transcript(s) submitted with your application
3. Have great interest in continuing their education beyond the baccalaureate degree
4. Have an interest in advanced nursing practice, nursing research, education, application of research to the clinical setting, and/or health policy.

Last year's event was a great success! We had a wonderful group of participants who enjoyed a great time with us. Many of them have gone on to enroll at UCSF for their graduate nursing education. See below for further details.
