FHCN Chair Steps Down Dr. Sally Rankin stepped down from her position as Chair of the UCSF School of Nursing Department of Family Health Care Nursing on December 31, 2009, a position she has held since 2004. Dr. Rankin assumed the role of the Associate Dean for International Programs on January 1, 2010. Research Award Janice Humphreys was awarded the Excellence in Research award from Nursing Network on Violence Against Women International. There are three awards given out at the NNVAWI conference and this is the only one for research. Changes at Valencia Health Services Effective December 31, 2009, the University of California at San Francisco School of Nursing no longer owns Valencia Health Services (VHS). Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is the new owner and the new name is MNHC Valencia Clinic. There is sadness with the end of the school's ownership of the practice. Dr. Larry Granader and Justine Barnard will continue to offer pediatric and family patient care at Valencia, however, our clinical faculty will continue to provide excellent pediatric primary care as well as exemplary teaching experiences at SFGH and at other FHCN faculty practices.
