Skinfold Thickness Measurement
- When taken properly, these measurements can help with the interpretation of weight and weight for height measurements.
- Skinfold thickness measurements use subcutaneous fat to estimate an individual's body fatness.
- Measurements are taken from the following areas on your body:
- Triceps (the underside of the mid upper arm)
- Subscapular (on the back near the shoulder blade)
- Calf (the underside of the lower leg)
- These procedures are painless and help to estimate body fat and muscle reserves
