In the 2007 survey, and for more than twenty years, the School of Nursing at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), has achieved top rankings in the "US News - America's Best Graduate Schools" survey.
Every four years, US News & World Report asks deans of nursing schools and departments of nursing to rank the best ten schools overall as well as eight individual graduate programs. The current survey results can be seen at the usnews.com web site and are summarized below.
The overall ranking of UCSF School of Nursing continues in second place, unchanged from the last survey (completed in 2003). The top schools in this 2007 ranking are: (1) University of Washington (2) UCSF (3) University of Pennsylvania (4) Johns Hopkins University (5/tie) University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (7/tie) Oregon Health Science University; University of Illinois, Chicago; University of Maryland, Baltimore; University of Pittsburgh; and Yale University.
Beyond the school-wide rankings, the survey also ranks some specialty graduate nursing programs as shown in the following table of national rankings.

Note: many graduate programs offered at UCSF School of Nursing are not included in the US News survey. However, Dean Kathleen Dracup notes, "our presence in the top 10 of all graduate programs across the board is something to celebrate."
