Teaching and Clinical Activities

Annette Carley works with first and second-year Advanced Practice Neonatal Nursing students, teaching core neonatal content (Neonatal and Infant Health Assessment, Fetal and Newborn Risks in Pregnancy, and Neonatal Pathophysiology), conducting advanced practice seminars and serving as clinical preceptor for first-year neonatal clinical residency experiences. Additionally she conducts a nutrition course for students in the neonatal, pediatric and acute care pediatric specialties (Topics in Neonatal and Pediatric Nutrition), and is a regular guest lecturer for the APPN program.

Ms. Carley has over twenty years of advanced practice nursing experience, and is certified as a Nurse Practitioner in both Neonatal and Pediatric specialties. Her clinical background includes outpatient pediatric primary care, and both intensive care and term newborn nursery practice.

Current clinical interests include neonatal & infant nutrition, and complex neonatal pathophysiology; current academic interests include the development of web-based curricula for the neonatal and pediatric specialties.
