Teaching and Clinical Activities

Angel Chen has joined the faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing. She works with both APPN (Pediatrics) and ACPNP students, teaching Pediatric Health Assessment Skills Lab, and the Pediatric Primary Care Clinical Seminar series throughout the program. Ms. Chen also coordinates the Primary Care clinical placements for the first year students.

In addition to classroom teaching, Ms. Chen maintains a clinical practice and precepts PNP students at Valencia Health Services (VHS), the department's faculty practice site in the Mission District of San Francisco. She is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish.

Ms. Chen has over eight years of clinical experience working with children and families in the subspecialty of Pediatric Urology. She has created a successful continence clinic along with managing children with multiple urological needs, from urinary tract infections to vesicoureteral reflux and neurogenic bladder. She has worked at a private pediatric urology practice near UCLA, Pediatric Urology Clinic at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital, as well as UCSF Pediatric Urology Clinic. She has also participated in multiple pediatric clinical research trials as both sub-investigator as well as research coordinator.

Ms. Chen's interests include pediatric dysfunctional voiding and elimination, urinary tract infections, vesicoureteral reflux, as well as breastfeeding, and early childhood development.
