My research addresses the strengths and experiences of battered women and their children using both quantitative and qualitative methods. My research has addressed the sleep patterns, psychological distress, trauma history, and spiritual beliefs of sheltered battered women. Additional topics of research include resilience in both abused women and their children.
My current projects include aid to abused women and their children.
My areas of teaching include N279 Family Theory and Practice (now taught completely on the web), and N212A Qualitative Data Collection and Ethics.
Every other year I teach N240.04, an advanced nursing seminar for doctoral students on violence and health.
