Academic and Clinical Interests

I have taught a variety of nurse practitioner-related courses at UCSF and am very involved in the Department's faculty practices. Areas of special interest include:

  1. Health Assessment of Individuals, Families and Communities,
  2. Curriculum Development,
  3. Clinical Decision Making,
  4. Clinical Management of Common Primary Care Conditions,
  5. Learning Styles,
  6. Nurse Practitioner Regulatory and Legal Issues,
  7. Continuous Quality Improvement, and
  8. Innovative Nursing Practices.

Other Professional Activities

I regularly consult with various health care and government agencies on regulatory issues/scope of practice concerns related to nurse practitioner practice.
