Topic	Action or Decision
1. QA workshop	Title (suggested): Continuos Quality Improvement: A Focus in Practical Strategies Date offered: June 12, 2002 - 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Rani Eversley will prepare objectives for the workshop and will bring objectives to the next meeting. The main purpose of this workshop will be to provide practical tools to faculty working in faculty practices in order to improve or develop quality improvement programs at their practice site, as well as to provide the School with some indicators that can compare faculty practices across the School.
2. HIPPA	Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) update will be included in the QA workshop. P. Bernal de Pheils will ask UCSF Privacy Officer, D. Yano-Fong the question of how HIPPA may influence faculties' efforts to evaluate quality improvement plans (e.g., How will this our ability to access medical records etc.)
3. Reports	Jo Anne Saxe reported a recommendation that came from the school Retreat. The subgroup in faculty practice recommended some centralization for faculty practices and recommended having an Associate Dean for Faculty Practice.
