Fees and Expenses

Fees and expenses have fluctuated in recent years. The Office of Admissions and Registrar maintains current fee information, see http://registrar.ucsf.edu/registration/fees/nursing on their web site.

Note:  California residents do not pay the quarterly "non-resident tuition fee" (see http://registrar.ucsf.edu/registration/residency web site for more information).

Remember that the fees charged by the Registrar do not include textbooks, housing, meals, transportation, supplies, or other living expenses. Almost all students live off-campus in non-University private housing (also see Housing).

Note:  University of California employees may qualify for a two-thirds discount of their educational fees.

Web-Based Instruction (Distance Learning)

at-home study, photo

The School of Nursing offers several web-based options to augment traditional classroom, laboratory, and seminar teaching in core and elective courses.

Examples include: Introduction to Radiology, Chest X-Ray Interpretation, Family Nursing Theory, Pediatric Pharmacology, Women's Health, Teaching-Learning Processes, and Curriculum and Program Development.

There is no mechanism at this time to complete a full program of study via "distance education," although more classes are anticipated to move to an on-line format, and opportunities to complete a larger portion of the curriculum in this manner will grow.

UCSF Library. Web-based course services are hosted by the Center for Instructional Technology of the Library (website: http://www.library.ucsf.edu). A new Teaching and Learning Center is being developed at the library, see the http://tlc.library.ucsf.edu web site.
